Excessively challenging behaviors (i.e. aggression, tantrums, non-communication) demonstrated by some children and adolescents may be frustrating and overwhelming for caretakers. We can help relieve these frustrations by identifying why these behaviors are occurring and developing a plan to address them. Our process includes:
Step 1 – Conduct observations in the settings where behaviors are occurring and interview those witnessing and being impacted by them.
Step 2 – Administer a Functional Behavior Assessment to identify the root causes of the behaviors.
Step 3 – Create an individualized behavior plan to decrease the challenging behaviors and replace them with more socially appropriate ones.
Step 4 – Provide training to ensure there is carryover in the home and school environment.
