Tips for Making the Bedtime Routine Easier (Part 1/4):
•Create a Nightly Routine: When possible, the routine should include the same calming activities and start at the same time every night. Some activities to include might be reading a story, getting a glass of water, choosing a stuffed animal to snuggle with, etc. You may use a picture schedule to show children the routine and begin to teach them to follow it themselves. Routines help children learn exactly what to expect every night and can reduce some of the anxiety about bedtimes.
